A Dream Come True

Yeah, a LOT has happened lately. I've had plenty of adventures! I've been into New York quite a few times, and have definitely been able to get into the groove of things. Although I've done a lot already, there's still so much more things to explore! I've made even more friends, like I have a feeling I'm going to be great friends with Chelsea and Nychole! They are way awesome! What's cool is while I'm out doing all these things, it's interesting to stop and think of how what I'm doing is something that I never thought I'd do. Like ice skating in central park and at Rockefeller's, I think to myself, WOW. I've heard of this, I've seen it on TV, I've thought about how cool it would be to do it, and now, I really am doing it!!! I love it!!! Doing all these things that I only dreamed of doing! I can literally say doing these things is a dream come true with a little extra unexpected fun experiences tagged on.

Although all of this has definitely been amazing and fun, I still miss my family and friends back home. I honestly can't wait till I'm back at home for Christmas! Telling all my stories, and spending as much time as I can with them before I have to come back.

I know I need to put up pictures, and I will! TONS! But I need the right electronics first. Which I'm hoping I'll get for Christmas :) So until then, use your imagination!

Busy Busy Busy!

It's been a while since I've posted something, so I decided to use my break today to do that. I've been busy doing all sorts of stuff! I had thanksgiving dinner with some friends, fed the elderly thanksgiving dinner at The Iron Monkey, went to the Bronx Zoo, and lots of other stuff! I've definitely been able to get to know the kids better, along with meeting some of their friends and family. Sean(8) and Mary Kelly(7) like to fight and pester each other, but when separated they are very sweet and helpful! Will(5) has special needs, but is very sweet and loving. He likes to do things by himself. Like if we buckle his seat belt, he'll undo it and put it back in himself. Margaret(1.5) is hilarious! She has the funniest facial expressions! She is also very independent, always just walking around and playing on her own terms, very good at doing things for herself. Oh! I was finally able to go over to Brenda's sister's house to play piano! Now that I know where she lives, I can go over there to play whenever. I also found out that the gym has rock climbing, so I'll have to go over there to try that out sometime. There's just so much to do and see! Family Night is tonight, and I'm going to ask everyone if anyone wants to go to the Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting with me! That would definitely be something awesome to do! It's kind of hard to find people to go out and about with me because everyone is so busy with the holidays and such. But after the holidays, I'll probably be able to go out more often with new people too because most new nannies start just after the holidays. I'm hoping I can find a family for my friend Kara to come out and work for. She wants a nanny job and we would probably have so much fun going out into the city and everything! I guess we'll see what happens!
P.S. I'll get pictures up as soon as I can :)

The Game!

So today was the day that I went out with the family to go to Army vs. VMI football game! I forgot to ask them yesterday what time the game starts, so I ended up just getting up at about 8am to get ready and go upstairs. When I went upstairs the kids were up and John was going out to play football with some other guys in the area. Brenda came out and said "Go back to bed!". ha ha, I'm really going to love her :) I told her I was fine, and we got the kids ready, ran some errands, put together some snacks, and then bundled up for the cold day! The rain here is different. It's not pouring rain, but misty rain! It's been raining for quite some time now, and should be clearing up for tomorrow. When it was time to leave we put the snacks in the car and left Monina to take care or Margaret. The game was intense and awesome! I loved it! John and Brenda remind me of my g-ma and g-pa Hustead, because they are constantly feeding me!!! ha ha, I'm going to have to find some time to get over to the gym! The dance last night was awesome too! I met quite a few new people and definitely made some new friends! Tonight we're supposed to go to a movie. We're probably seeing 2012. There's supposed to be a black and white dance next Saturday too! And it looks like I'm getting together with all of them on Thanksgiving too :)It's crazy finding so many connections with everyone! It was crazy! Katie and I found out that we had talked way earlier through the Lakey's in my ward! Kristie lived in New Zealand so we were able to talk about Hokey Pokey ice cream :) Brianna lived in Cedar City and we know some of the same people. She also knows a lot of the same people as Kristie who lived in Eden. We were finding connection after connection! We talked and told stories about everything from our first kiss to 'legit' ha ha. I'm excited for my future adventures :)

I Have Arrived!!!

Wow! This past while has been busy, busy and busy! It took forever to figure out packing, and we still had to switch some stuff around at the baggage check in! Then I had to say my good-byes to everyone. I did have a party so that I wouldn't have to drive everywhere to say good-bye, but I still had to go visit those people that couldn't make it. Then once I got on the plane, it was a slightly bumpy ride next to a guy named Mike to Newark, NJ. I watched the movie 'The Time Traveler's Wife' and listened to some Broadway music. Once off the plane, I grabbed my luggage and waited for John, the father of the family. On the way to the house he gave me a brief geography of the area and told me more about the family. He's a funny guy! As soon as I walked through the door I saw the youngest child, Margaret, eating her breakfast. She is such a cutie! I then met Brenda, the mother. Brenda is a sweetheart! And while unpacking, Mary Kelly came down to meet me. I didn't meet Will until just after my nap, and Sean till dinner. All the kids are wonderful! I love my room! It's cute and totally comfortable! I'm now about to go to a church dance in New York City with Katie! It's all just so exciting! :)

The Beginning

So this is my very first blog. That's right! The first blog in the history of Tabby. Why did I start this blog? Well I'm about to go on an adventure, so I figured I would write down my experiences and thoughts through it all. This adventure I'm about to pursue is called life. Wow! Who would have guessed? I actually started this adventure almost nineteen years ago. However, my adventure is about to take a turn. You see, I'm moving to New Jersey to be a nanny. That is on the opposite side of the country from where I've lived all my life. I'm leaving my family and friends to have an experience of a lifetime! To be honest, I'm way nervous. I've never lived away from home before. But there's a first for everything, and everyone needs to leave the nest sometime! I'm sure I'll make new friends and eventually get in the groove of things after a while, but I know it's still going to be tough. Thankfully I have friends and family that love me and support me in my decisions. I know that if I need someone to talk to, they are only a phone call away! Wish me luck on my adventure!
